I have these cams put on with a full exhaust, in order to get the real feel of these cams you need to have long tube headers, an X pipe or H pipe of some sort as well as axlebacks. It's a huge difference compared to the stock cams, so you'll be looking at real horse power gains with supporting mods of about 30 RWHP, which is alot more than you think it is!

answer 3
You should notice around a 20 to 30 horse gain, however it really depends on the other mods. each build is different. Some may say long tubes are the way to go, but shorties may also be the way to go, but definitely a header upgrade will help the gain. Exhaust back pressure is something that is one of the few topics that is not as easy as "the bigger the better". It depends on your overall build.

Our Bama team can tune for these Camshafts. Just be sure to also get the Phaser Limiters as well as the Cam Phaser Bolts for installation. Hope this helps!

Question

These Or Ford Racing Cams?

I would like to know if the thumpr cams are better than the Ford Racing cams. The power gain is about the same I guess, but would like to know if one sounds better than the other, or if one plays better with the stock valve-train than the other. I have a Ford Racing cold air intake, long tube headers, high flow catted pipe, and Magnaflow mufflers with a performance tune.

I've only had experience with the frpp hot rod cams and they sound awesome. I seriously doubt much power difference but I'd say the comps might make a few more.

I would plan to invest in a Dyno tune after your installation of the cams and supercharger. I did this with the Ford Racing cams and my supercharger. It's more $$$ but they will be able to squeeze out all the horsepower and torque then can, safely.

Question

What about with a turbo?

I am looking to install these cams, because they offer the sound and idle I want. Because of their rotation duration though, would these cams be benificial if they were installed in a turbocharged engine. I friend said these were an N/A nitrous cam. I have a nitrous kit and plan on getting a turbo or a Procharger kit. Probably turbo. I just don't want to spend the time and money and it turns out I was better off with stock cams. I don't want all of my boost to go straight out the tailpipes. Thanks.
